The Organization: HD Reach provides access to healthcare, education and social assistance to patients and families affected by Huntington’s Disease. Huntington’s Disease is an inherited progressive brain disorder that affects control of movement, cognitive abilities, mood and behavior. HD Reach provides confidential counseling, referrals to specialists ranging from medical to legal to financial, and compassionate support for all impacted family members.

Position Summary/Purpose: The Philanthropy Manager will manage the coordination and implementation of a comprehensive annual giving, engagement, and stewardship program with a focus on acquiring new donors, growing major gifts and planned giving. This is an opportunity to leverage diverse fundraising skills to expand the existing philanthropic efforts of HD Reach. The Manager will be a highly motivated, experienced individual who enjoys working independently and as part of a team. Position is designed to grow in line with revenue growth.

Impact: Raise unrestricted and restricted donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

Reports to: Executive Director

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize and implement mid-year and year-end appeals
  • Cultivate sponsors and assist in the planning for two golf tournaments
  • Identify individual prospects for major and planned gifts
  • Coordinate with other staff members to build engagement opportunities that identify and cultivate new donors
  • Identify creative philanthropic opportunities
  • Be a passionate and informed advocate for HD Reach and serve as a spokesperson, actively seeking opportunities to participate in or share events that position the organization for improved fundraising or visibility

Qualifications/Skills Needed

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of five years of fund development experience
  • Familiarity with CRM is preferred
  • Skilled in the full range of fundraising activities including major gifts ($1,000+), annual gifts, membership, sponsorship, grants, special events, and planned giving
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills. Goal, results and detail-oriented with the ability to set and meet deadlines
