Make-A-Wish Foundation of Mississippi Names New President and CEO

Kit Barksdale has been named the new President and CEO of the Mississippi Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She began her tenure on Monday, October 3, 2011. Kit brings 15 years of leadership experience working for non-profit and public organizations in and around Jackson, Mississippi.

She left her post as Executive Director of the Mustard Seed, a non-profit organization that administers community and residence facility housing and cares for developmentally disabled adults. Previously, Kit served as Executive Director for the Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi, and held staff roles with the International Ballet Competition in Jackson, and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks. Kit has also worked as a professional studio glass arist. She is actively involved in volunteer work, including the Board of Trustees of the National Council of Alcohol and Drug Abuse, the Mississippi Autism Advisory Committee, and the Junior League of Jackson.
