Jim Straight Named NPPA Executive Director ( Durham , NC May 1, 2007)

James Straight, former Director of The Hormone Foundation, the public education affiliate of The Endocrine Society, has been appointed the Executive Director at the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA). NPPA is the organization dedicated to the advancement of photojournalism, its creation, editing and distribution, in all news media .

Jim has extensive leadership experience in nonprofit administration, fundraising and marketing. After receiving his Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware , he worked in the mental health field before joining The National Kidney Foundation of the National Capital Area in 2001, first serving as a senior program coordinator and later as the Senior Director of Medical and Community Programs and Development.

He began working with The Hormone Foundation in 2005. Jim recently relocated to the Triangle from the Washington , DC area with his family.
