Position Profile: Executive Director

The Durham Crisis Response Center (DCRC) works with the community to end domestic, sexual and family violence and human trafficking through advocacy, education, support and prevention. DCRC’s continuum of service includes a 24-Hour Help Line; emergency shelter; safety planning; crisis intervention; information and referrals for job training, housing, and childcare; counseling referral and support groups; legal advocacy; assistance with filing for victim compensation; hospital accompaniment; community education and outreach.

DCRC seeks a compassionate leader, committed advocate, and creative problem solver to serve as its next Executive Director. An experienced professional with a collaborative focus and strong skills leading staff and working with a Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for the overall operations and administration of the programs and staff and will represent the organization in the community. Critical to this role is unifying the staff, Board, and volunteer teams and leading and directing the development and implementation of domestic violence and sexual assault services for families and individuals. Seen within both the organization and the community as respectful, trustworthy, and accountable, the Executive Director will be an empathetic, culturally competent, and knowledgeable leader.

The Executive Director is responsible for executing DCRC’s mission through developing impactful goals and objectives to ensure organizational excellence; establishing appropriate operational processes; ensuring strong community and partner relations; supporting and supervising staff; and overseeing the implementation of programs. These responsibilities will require a thorough understanding of core programs, operations, and strategic goals.
